Fritzi – A Miracle of Change Story

The film “Fritzi – A Miracle of Change Story” follows 12-year-old Fritzi, who experiences the social upheavals of the GDR in the fall of 1989. Told in a child-friendly way, the film conveys aspects of everyday life at that time, the demonstrations in Leipzig, and the fall of the Berlin Wall. The threatening presence of the Ministry for State Security (Stasi) is also subtly depicted.

After the screening, screenwriter Beate Völcker and historian Bettina Altendorf (Federal Archives) will answer children’s questions, moderated by Sophie Buchholz (Federal Archives).
