Filmscreening

On the occasion of the Berlin Freedom Week, the German-Taiwanese Association and director Vanessa Hope present a free online package featuring the documentary Invisible Nation and an high-level panel discussion.

The film offers a unique insight into the presidency of Tsai Ing-wen, Taiwan’s first female president, highlighting her struggle for democracy, freedom, and international recognition amid growing authoritarian threats. With unprecedented access, Invisible Nation portrays Tsai’s balancing act between the aspirations of her people and the geopolitical forces of the United States and China.

The accompanying virtual panel discussion explores strategies Taiwan employs to counter authoritarian influence – from coalition-building and civic engagement to international alliances in the fight for democracy and human rights.

The online package will be available free of charge for several days during Berlin Freedom Week. A link will be provided to access both the film and the recorded discussion.
