“Invisible Paths - Remembrance in Motion”

On-site
Workshop

The workshop “Invisible Paths - Remembrance in Motion”, funded by the Deutsche Fernsehlotterie as part of the project KIEZ IN BEWEGUNG/ Berlin, is aimed at young people, families, educators, artists, and the local community. While walking together along sites of Berlin’s escape tunnels, participants engage with accounts of escape, freedom, and remembrance. They then enter a creative dialogue: through collages, role play, and artistic exercises, historical experiences are transformed into shared artistic expression. Interactive games and conversations further open up reflection on present-day reasons of escape. In this way, the workshop creates a space for intergenerational exchange where past and present are connected and democratic values are strengthened.

The workshop is led by Chiara Zimmermann. Alongside her teacher training studies, she has been active for several years in political education with the Network for Democracy and Courage (NDC), where she conducts workshops in Berlin and Brandenburg on topics such as racism, social justice, and nationalism.
