A joint event organized by Berliner Sparkasse and the Schwarzkopf Foundation Young Europe. The event is aimed at young adults.
Leopoldo López is a Venezuelan politician and opposition leader. He played a leading role in the anti-government protests in Venezuela in 2014. Since then, he has been imprisoned several times as a political prisoner or placed under house arrest. In October 2020, he managed to flee abroad.
Leopoldo López is co-founder of the World Liberty Congress, an organization launched in 2022 that aims to serve as a counterweight to the global autocratic alliance by connecting nonviolent, pro-democracy activists and leaders from around the world. Leopoldo López is currently a visiting scholar at the Wilson Center and The Institute and has also been a lecturer at Stanford University's Freeman Spogli Institute for International Studies.
