Commemorative event “Giving the victims a face”

On behalf of the Vereinigung (AK) 17. Juni 1953 e.V., we invite you to this year's commemorative event/wreath-laying ceremony on 9 November 2025 – a day that, like no other, stands for the struggle for freedom, human dignity and the overcoming of injustice in Germany.

At the Wall Crosses at the Reichstag, we pause, remember, and reflect. We commemorate the victims of the SED dictatorship, those who died at the Wall, and all those who suffered under the unjust system. Their voices must not be silenced – their courage remains our mission. Giving a face to the victims of the Wall is a cause that remains of great importance to the association to this day.

The wreath-laying ceremony begins at 2:00 p.m. Representatives of all parliamentary groups of the German Bundestag and the Berlin House of Representatives are expected to attend, as well as institutions committed to coming to terms with the injustices of the SED regime.
