BERLIN GLOBAL in 60 Minutes
In 60 minutes, spin the “Wheel of History,” dance inside the walk-in disco ball, or look through the telescopes from the windows of the Humboldt Forum to explore the history of the site. This guided tour presents Berlin’s historically and contemporarily global connections in an interactive and dialog-based way.
Immersive installations and fascinating stories lead through seven distinct thematic worlds of Berlin. Each room surprises visitors with special objects and striking stagings: at the heart of BERLIN GLOBAL stands a rusted and ton-heavy vault door. What does this two-meter-tall object tell us about expropriation and persecution—and why does it also symbolize the party scene of the 1990s? A look up to the ceiling reveals the original lamps of the Palace of the Republic: how did Berliners have fun here over 40 years ago?
