Ostfrauensalon* @ Berlin Freedom Week

In the center of the room stands a long, lavishly laid table. It evokes, all at once, a banquet table, family gatherings, and artistic installations.

Amidst porcelain, glassware, bread, fruit, flowers, and objects, a place emerges that brings people together. The table becomes the antithesis of the former Stasi headquarters: where control, mistrust, and isolation once prevailed, opportunities for encounter, exchange, and trust are now emerging.Visitors are welcome to take a seat, linger, and strike up a conversation with others at any time. An event in collaboration with Isa Grütering.

In addition to a long table for guests, there will be a podcast seating area, a photo gallery, a book sale, a panel discussion, and readings, as well as catering and games. Starting at 8 p.m., there will be a party with music and a relaxed atmosphere to wind down the evening.

The OSTFRAUENSALON is a joint project of the Lichtenberg District Economic Development Agency, the Federal Archives, the STASI-UNTERLAGEN-ARCHIV, and the Ostfrauensalon. The project is funded by a grant from the Senate Department for Economics, Energy, and Public Enterprises as part of the funding allocated for special tourism projects.
