Guided tour of the permanent exhibition at the Otto Weidt Museum for the Blind
Image
During the tour, the history of Otto Weidt’s workshop for the blind will be recounted. There, during World War II, small-scale manufacturer Otto Weidt employed mainly blind, visually impaired, or hearing-impaired Jewish men and women. Otto Weidt tried to protect his Jewish workers from persecution and deportation. Various workers, such as Inge Deutschkron—who later became a contemporary witness and co-founder of the museum—as well as Otto Weidt’s circle of helpers will be introduced during the tour of the museum.
