AI for Freedom: Responsible AI in the Justice System

Vor Ort
Diskussion

Artificial intelligence is transforming the justice system. It can support courts and judicial staff in handling cases, analyzing large amounts of data, and making proceedings more efficient. At the same time, its use raises fundamental questions: How much decision-making authority should be delegated to systems? How do proceedings remain transparent and accountable? And how does judicial independence, fairness, and the protection of human rights remain secure even in the age of algorithmic systems?

Marco Buschmann, Alisha Andert, and Sina Dörr discuss the standards that trustworthy AI in the justice system must meet and what innovation-friendly regulation might look like. Of particular focus is Berlin’s unique role: As the capital of freedom and home to a vibrant legal tech ecosystem, Berlin can set international standards for AI in the judiciary that not only upholds but also strengthens the rule of law, democracy, and human rights. The event is moderated by Quint Haidar Aly.

In cooperation with the Legal Tech Verband Deutschland e. V. and the Vereinigung Liberaler Juristen e. V.
